WHAT IS ARTS FEST 2012?
- A 4-week juried art exhibition of emerging Central Interior regional artists held in Vanderhoof.
- An arts practice symposium.
- Time to network with regional artists.
- Opportunity to have your art work selected for touring exhibition.
- An opportunity to have an art professional’s written comments about your submitted piece.
Emerging artists residing in BC’s Central Interior region (the area bounded by Mackenzie, Valemount, 100 Mile House, Bella Coola and Burns Lake) are eligible to enter.
Emerging artists will have begun to demonstrate a personal style and show a serious interest in using their chosen medium or media to communicate in a visually compelling way that may reflect contemporary or traditional art practice. An emerging artist will not have had a solo exhibition in a major gallery, nor will they have received national or international awards or grants. They may have participated in a gallery group or exploratory exhibition and received local awards or recognition.
2012 Touring Arts Fest Exhibition
From the works submitted, 10 will be identified to form the 2012 Touring Arts Fest Exhibition. These works will be returned to the artists once they have completed CIRAC’s regional tour.
